Now that we have all our ingredients ready, let’s dive into the cooking process. Follow these steps to create a delicious Chicken Dilkush recipe that will leave your guests craving for more.

Step 1: Marinate the chicken

In a large mixing bowl, add 3 lbs of skinless chicken and mix it with 1 tablespoon of salt. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons of garlic paste, and 2 tablespoons of ginger paste.

Pour the yogurt mixture over the chicken and mix until every piece is coated properly. Cover the bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow the marinade to settle.

Step 2: Prepare the masala

In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until it melts. Add in some of our freshly ground spices including 1 teaspoon of white poppy seeds, 4 cloves, 4 green cardamoms, and 2 cinnamon sticks. Let it cook for a minute or two until fragrant.

Next, add in finely chopped onions, around two medium-sized onions, and cook them until golden brown.

Step 3: Grind the herb paste

Once ready, let’s move on to creating a flavorful herb paste. Blend together fresh green chilies (around 6 to 8), some fresh mint leaves, a handful of coriander leaves, and some freshly ground ginger-garlic paste (2 tablespoons each).

Step 4: Cook the chicken

Take out the marinated chicken from the fridge and add it to the pan with your prepared masala ingredients. Mix well and cook for about 5-7 minutes.

Add in our freshly ground garam masala (around half-a-teaspoon) along with our herb paste to give it a burst of flavor. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

Step 5: Serve hot

Our Chicken Dilkush recipe is now ready to be served! This dish goes perfectly with some biryani or even some grilled chicken on skewers (dilkhush kebab recipe). Sprinkle some freshly chopped coriander leaves over it to give it an extra touch of freshness. Enjoy!

Remember that this recipe is versatile and you can experiment with different variations such as vegetarian options like paneer dilkhush or even try stuffing it into some coconut stuffed sweet buns for a unique twist (dilkush bread).

Tips for Perfect Results

When it comes to preparing chicken dilkush recipe, there are a few tricks to ensure that you get the perfect results every time. Here are some tips that I have learned along the way.

First and foremost, always be mindful of the cooking temperature. Cooking over high heat may cause the chicken to become tough and dry, while cooking over low heat might result in undercooked chicken. A better approach is to start by cooking it on medium heat for a couple of minutes and then lowering it to low heat to cook it through.

Another essential tip is to marinate the chicken for at least 3-4 hours or overnight. The longer you marinate the chicken, the more tender and flavorful it will be. Make sure you use a good marinade containing ginger-garlic paste, yogurt, and spices like cumin seed, garam masala, and coriander powder.

Using fresh ingredients can make all the difference in taste. Fresh green chilies, mint leaves, and coriander leaves will add zing to your dish. Use fresh onions as they lose their flavor soon if cooked for too long or left in storage for too long.

If you’re looking to add more depth of flavor to your dish, try roasting spices like cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, cloves, green cardamoms before adding them to your chicken mixture. It takes only a few extra minutes but makes a world of difference in taste.

Lastly, don’t forget to garnish with fresh chopped cilantro leaves before serving. This not only adds freshness but also contributes an enticing aroma that will make your guests’ mouths water.

By following these simple tips, you’ll achieve a dish that is tender, juicy and bursting with flavors that will make everyone crave for more!
