What an incredible birthday weekend!
I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends & family to share in the celebrations with. And celebrate we did
If the big 3-0 continues the way the past few days have gone then I think I’ve got myself a pretty darn great year ahead…
Thanks for the photos Brittany!
There were some fabulous times spent wining & dining downtown at a new to me restaurant: Havana 59…
A place that I am seriously now in love with, it was fantastic!
Mojitos are their specialty. And special they were… wowza good. Not too sweet, just like I like ‘em
A starter for the table: Spanish pizza.
Wood grilled crispy crust topped with roasted vegetables, cheese, mango chutney and some sort of chili aoili.
This was my favorite dish of the night!
’59 chopped salad for dinner with corn, black beans, avocado, onions, peppers, Manchego cheese and roasted jalapeno-cilantro dressing.
And a slice of the most decadant chocolate torte with coconut almond crust & raspberry coulis to top it all off!
After dinner there were some “unphotographed” beverages and the like at another location and let’s just say it was a super fun night!
Good thing I had Fanatic Mom to bring me back to life the next day ha with a delicious Sunday night birthday dinner for me and good ol’ Dad…
His birthday was the day before mine last week, gotta love that.
Plus some blackened fish and fresh asparagus.
She threw together the blackening seasoning herself and it turned out stellar! I’m going to have to get my hands on some more of this stuff soon.
My girlfriends also got me a few signature gifts that I just had to share with ya’ll, do we sense a theme here?
Food and wine… the way to this girl’s heart
Only the best for this 30 year old haha… cutest wine glass ever from Tweed (love that store)!
And just to be sure that my wine is perfectly chilled in said wine glass, the “corkcicle!”
You throw this bad boy into the freezer then place it into an open wine bottle to keep the wine chilled. Why don’t I think of these things?!
A Latin cuisine cookbook from Williams Sonoma ummmm *swoon*. The pictures in this are gorggggeous and I can’t wait to get my hands dirty trying out some of these recipes!
And as if that didn’t make my mouth water enough… ummm chocolate COCONUT brownies made from scratch. Say whaaaaa?!
Fudgey, moist and perfectly coconutty too. Omg these are good
What could possible be one of the funniest cards everrrrr hahaha…
Can you guess which one’s supposed to be me?!
Oh yes. “I like corn on the cob.” <— so totally me.
Lol this card had me laughing hystericallllyyyyyyy!!
So all in all I have to say that the big 3-0 may have been one of the best birthdays yet. Yep. Who’da thunk it?!
As for this week, I’ve got a couple new recipes lined up for ya’ll that I’m pretty excited about. One including pumpkin & spicy chorizo and another a Mexican treat that I can’t wait to try out for the first time!
Until then, happy Monday ya’ll
