Doesn’t Cinco de Mayo’s passing now mean that summer is officially around the corner?!
I.think.so

Cha Cha’s. $3 margaritas, shrimp tacos, chips n’ salsa.
I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed the soft tacos at this place, which I tend to think of as more of a bar-scene. Think they added Old Bay into the mix which was really unique and tasty?!
Cinco isn’t complete without sundresses too, of course
Even if it did turn cool and rainy at the drop of a sombrero!
Aside from the Mexican dining-out fare there were also some south-of-the-border inspired treats at home…

Quesadillas with seriously some of the best spicy pepper jack that has ever to hit these lips
Need.More.Asap.
Oh yea, and apparently it’s mango season already… ?

Because this lil’ mango – which made its way atop a most delectable salad w/ avocado, tomato and cilantro - was at the peak of sweet ripe deliciousness!
So good.
And what weekend is complete without a few more beverages?

And quite possibly the best salad I’ve ever had?
It tasted like strawberry shortcake. Don’t ask me how, but it did, and is probably one of my new favorite things everrrrrr.

The Blue Goat. Manakintowne mixed field greens, hydroponic tomatoes, sliced strawberries, gorgonzola with balsamic rhubarb vinaigrette.
Pretty much in love with this restaurant ever since trying it out on last week’s Real Richmond Food Tour by the way.
Know what else I’m pretty much in love with since that lil’ tour…

Yep. Pearl’s Cupcakes.
I may or may not have showed up at their front door right upon Saturday morning opening…
Nothing says 10:30am like a margarita and mint julep cupcake now does it?
Thought so.
I guess maybe a side of iced coffee to make it a proper breakfast
If you’re in Richmond and haven’t tried these cupcakes yet… what are you doin’?! Go. Go now.
Dessert can be eaten any time when it tastes this darn good, right?
Hope y’all had a fabulous weekend!!

You know it’s never a dull one around here
See you back for a spicy delicious stovetop recipe soon!
