Oh hey there wiiiiiiine… found ya!!!
This past weekend we spent a lovely weekend tasting all the wine there ever was in Charlottesville, eating some awesome food and leaving town with just a “few” vino souveneirs…
If you ever get a chance to visit the Charlottesville area I’d highly recommend trying some of the same!
I’ll consider this a weekend wine win
Here are some highlights!
I know someone who already can’t wait for another round of their Petit Verdot, but until then this Chardonnay Reserve will have to do, deelish!
Michael Shaps Virginia Wineworks.
Right down the “street” gravel mountain road, this new-to-me no-frills wine stop has a generous wine tasting & some pretty awesome boxed VA wine.
I know, boxed wine? But a good cab franc that will last for 2 months once opened and only costs $28 (a box has 4 bottles people, f-o-u-r bottles!) was something I just couldn’t say no to.
Can’t help but smile after a 13 wine tasting now can ya?!
I mean, this view. How lucky are we to live in such a gorgeous state? And get to see THIS while sipping on delicious wine? Their new Painted Red was a fave.
Sippin’ in style. Loved how they started the tasting with a series of three sparkling vinos. Oh and served us a delicious cheddar breadstick warm outta the oven. These folks know the way to my heart
Sparkly that was so tasty that it may have not made it back to Richmond with us. So yea. That happened haha.
Couldn’t believe that one of my favorites here was a Reisling. Not too sweet and oh so lovely!
Dinner was enjoyed at this local Asian tapas spot called Bang! which I found out about after reading this lil’ super helpful CVille page from my bloggin’ friend Kath.
This tangy cocktail with vodka, lime & mint simple syrup was the perfect contrast to some amazing dishes unlike I’d ever had before.
Kale tortellini w/ sambal brown butter and Pulled pork tacos w/ wasabi slaw. I mean, just yes!
There was also a stop at Blue Light Grill which had a really fun swanky ambiance and delicious prosecco, because clearly I had to put all my newfound wine knowledge to good use.
So yea….
Breakfast Revival.
The end
Hope y’all had a wonderful weekend too!

I’m not a wine fan…but you look adorable! glad you guys had fun!!
I honestly can’t think of a more perfect weekend
I have been wanting to go on a wine-tasting tour to several wineries in order to help me better identify which types of wine I prefer. I should probably get some girlfriends together and get this accomplished! It looks like you had a great time.
Yes, you definitely should, wine weekends are so much fun!!
It looks like SUCH a fun time! I was seriously going to go to Blenheim this weekend, but I think I’m going next weekend instead. YAY wine! haha
Yes, you have got to go next weekend! I love the atmosphere at Blenheim and the views are unreal. They are tasting only 4 wines right now however (all great) so I’d also recommend stopping into Trump right down the street afterwards, their tasting was awesome and started off with 3 sparklings which really sold me
Yay wine for sure!
Charlottesville has SO MANY good wineries! I’ve been on a wine tasting there to about 6 wineries and never even went to any of these guys! Def putting this on my post-baby list of to-do’s!
It totally does, I can’t wait to explore more! And yes, sounds like the perfect post-baby to do if you ask me!
I am always envious of your weekend rendezvous, especially to wine tastings! I’m 23 and have lived in the beautiful VA all my life and still haven’t gone to wine country… That needs to change, ASAP
P.S. I’m thinking of swinging down to RVA sometime in February to meet-up with some girlfriends, we should do a coffee date!
You definitely need to take advantage of all the wonderful wine that VA has to offer, you will love it! And yes, would love to grab coffee if you head down to the Rva, just let me know!
