Well well well, what have we here…?

Oh just another opportunity to sneak some of this guy into my dinner escapade.

What’s new? 😛

Plain Chobani is a great way to lower the fat/calories and up the protein in lots of dishes, like this spinach alfredo pasta bake, and  I swear by it!

I had also been curious about this Pomi Alfredo sauce ever since it landed on my doorstep, so I figured why not whip something up using it along with my favorite Chobani?

Once again, thanks Stephanie for the samples to try this!  Disclaimer: I received these samples for free.

The nutritional stats looked pretty good for an alfredo and the ingredient list included only ingredients that I knew how to pronounce.

Always a win! 🙂

So I boiled up some whole wheat penne pasta.

Stirred together some frozen spinach, an egg, nutmeg, salt and pepper.

Folded in not only the luscious Pomi alfredo sauce, but also some 2% Plain Chobani for a little added protein boost!

Stirred in the cooked pasta and layered into a lightly oiled baking dish.

Grated up some mozzarella cheese.

And got to sprinkin’!

Covered with cheese.

Then popped into the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese all gooey and nice.

A final minute or two under the broiler to brown up the cheese until bubbly and delicious, and dinner was served!

Now if you prefer a saucier/creamier pasta dish then you will want to increase either the amount of alfredo sauce used and/or Greek yogurt.  But if you know me well enough, you know that that’s not my thing.  Tomato / Tomahhhto?

So my final product resulted in a heavier-on-the-spinach dish, with just a hint of creamy richness, but of course I can imagine that this would be delicious as a saucier, creamier pasta bake as well!

Have you ever used Greek yogurt in your cooking adventures before?

  1. That sounds great! Love the idea of using yogurt!

  2. What an awesome idea! Such a creative lady. Using a little of the sauce with some of the chobani! Save on cals, increase the protein…win win. Rocking. And that first picture looks absolutely delicious

  3. Oh girl, that looks amazing!

  4. I know I’m super weird, but I’m not a huge fan of alfredo. I do enjoy dunking the occasional Olive Garden breadstick in it though… class all the way. This looks great though and I may have to try it. 🙂

  5. That looks heavenly! The man friend was saying that pasta sounded so good… I think it was a hint 😉 I better bookmark this!
